This website was created by a student in UK, who wanted to raise money to complete his education.
He created a website and put a blank image - 1000pixels by 1000pixels in dimension. He put a price of $1 per pixel and invited people to buy pixels from him.
He wanted to earn 1000*1000 = a million USD.
